NCCnet
The North Chevy Chase Elementary School e-mail
network, NCCnet, is for families and teachers
of NCC students. Founded in February 2000, NCCnet has
about 95 members. More join all the time.
This email group allows any member of the list to send e-mail to the whole list of
members. Similar to networks for a number of other schools in Montgomery
County, including our cluster schools, BCC High School and Westland Middle
School, NCCnet is for
communicating about school matters and education in general. The
idea is for it to be a supplementary medium of communication--not to replace
any of the other methods used to pass the word from the school or the PTA.
Topics have included getting volunteers for
school/PTA activities, notices of events and schedule changes, special needs,
math and other curriculum related discussions, notices of upcoming
workshops, etc.
The school and the PTA strongly recommend that parents take issues
with individual teachers or administrators about their kids or policies
directly to the person who knows the most about it. The
list is not moderated, that is no one reviews messages before they are
posted. When people apply to join NCCnet (become members), we check to make sure
they are NCC families. Only members can post messages, receive
messages, or review messages on the Yahoo Groups (formerly eGroups) web site at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nccnet.
Usually list members receive each e-mail message as it is sent. If
you would prefer, you can receive a single daily message or opt to view the
email messages on the Yahoo Groups web site.
To join NCCnet or to ask a question about it, contact
Sam Hoxie via email at samhoxie@megapathdsl.net.
Members of NCCnet will automatically receive the weekly
communication From All of Us via email. Be sure to include your child's name if you would like to join so that we may
verify your connection to NCC. Thanks! |
